We are looking for some collaborators on the topic of Emotions in EMI contexts.
This could involve:
Taiwanese - UK research applications & collaborations as part of TUKUC
Taiwanese PGRs/ECRs/colleagues visiting Edinburgh to learn about/expand the topic and establish future collaborations
Master students from Taiwan applying for PhD in Edinburgh and/or be jointly supervised across
Potential research titles could revolve around: Taiwanese-English bilinguals' Emotion Vocabulary, Emotional Intelligence and their influence on Academic Achievement in EMI contexts - but this can be expanded or tweaked accordingly depending on collaborators' interest.
So far, we have validated the main instrument with Mandarin-English bilinguals and have data both in Mandarin L1 and English L2, but it would be impactful to expand it to the Taiwanese EMI context and develop the research agenda further.
I have attached a recruitment poster for PhD students, but please share with your colleagues working in the areas mentioned.
We are grateful for your support!
