Dr Liao is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the EMI Teaching and Learning Center, which is part of the Center for Bilingual Education at National Taiwan University. As part of the TUKUC collaboration, she is involved in research related to EMI teaching and learning, with a particular focus on classroom observation and cross-cultural dialogue in higher education contexts.

Her academic background is in applied linguistics and sociolinguistics. Her research interests include discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, language and identity, second language acquisition, EMI pedagogy and teacher development. She is particularly interested in how language use reflects broader social, cultural and educational processes, and how research-informed pedagogical practices can support more inclusive and reflective teaching and learning environments.
