Shuping Huang is an associate professor of linguistics at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. Her research interests center on the interaction between language and culture, with special focus on cognitive semantics, construction grammar, and intercultural communication. Her recent topics of investigation include metaphors, cultural framing, cognitive linguistics, and language documentation. By interdisciplinary approaches -- corpus analysis, behavioral experiments, and linguistic fieldwork, she analyzed metaphorical expressions in Chinese, English, and Isbukun Bunun to account for world views and cultural beliefs reflected in figurative languages.
Currently serving at NSYSU EMI Center, Dr. Huang promotes innovative practices in English-medium instruction and faculty development. Her ultimate goal is to advance interdisciplinary dialogue between linguistics and language pedagogy.
