The Consortium held its second Annual Conference and MOU renewal ceremony at the University of Edinburgh from 22 to 24 October 2025, bringing together representatives from all eight member universities. Compared with the 2024 conference, the 2025 meeting saw increased participation and broader engagement across member institutions. During the conference, members jointly signed a three-year renewal Memorandum of Understanding, marking a new phase of Taiwan–UK higher education collaboration.
The conference continued to serve as an important platform for faculty networking and the exploration of potential research collaboration. Over the three-day program, delegates shared research ideas, identified new opportunities, and discussed strategic directions for the next stage of cooperation. With sustained institutional support and funding, the initiatives discussed are expected to develop into concrete research projects, creating additional pathways for future collaboration.
The host institution, the University of Edinburgh, also presented an overview of internal funding mechanisms as well as UK-based, Taiwan–UK, and EU-related funding schemes. This session encouraged faculty members from both sides to actively pursue joint research funding and enhanced awareness of international funding opportunities to support long-term collaboration.
Within just two years, the Consortium has demonstrated tangible progress in research collaboration and academic mobility, establishing a strong foundation for deeper synergy in Taiwan–UK higher education cooperation.
